Your tiles were made to be played, loved, and enjoyed for many mahjong nights to come. A little extra care will help keep them looking their best.

CARING FOR YOUR ACRYLIC TILES

The Mahj Studio tiles are made from acrylic. Acrylic gives our tiles their beautiful appearance and finish, but it is also a material that can scratch or develop surface marks through normal handling and play.

To help protect your tiles:

• Always play on a soft surface. We recommend using a mahjong mat rather than playing directly on wood, stone, concrete, or other hard surfaces.

• Avoid sliding or dragging your tiles across rough or abrasive surfaces. Pick them up whenever possible.

• Store your tiles carefully when they are not in use. Avoid storing them loosely with hard or sharp objects.

• Keep away from excessive heat and prolonged direct sunlight.

• Avoid harsh chemicals, alcohol, acetone, and abrasive cleaning products.

CLEANING YOUR TILES

For everyday cleaning, gently wipe your tiles with a soft microfiber cloth.

If needed, lightly dampen the cloth with water and gently wipe the surface. Dry immediately with a clean, soft cloth.

Do not soak or submerge your tiles in water.

A NOTE ABOUT SCRATCHES

Because our tiles are made from acrylic, minor scratches and surface marks can naturally occur with regular play and handling. This is a characteristic of the material and does not necessarily indicate a manufacturing defect.

Using a mahjong mat and handling your tiles with care can significantly reduce scratching and help preserve their finish.

NATURAL PRODUCT VARIATIONS

Each set goes through a detailed manufacturing and finishing process. Slight variations may occur between individual tiles and sets, including differences in:

• Color

• Printing or engraving

• Alignment

• Finish

• Dimensions

• Minor surface marks

Small variations that do not affect the use or playability of the tiles are considered normal characteristics of the manufacturing process.

IMPORTANT — PLEASE INSPECT BEFORE BREAKING THE SEAL

We recommend carefully inspecting your package and product before removing or breaking the original product seal.

Once the seal has been broken, removed, or tampered with, the mahjong set is considered opened and is no longer eligible for return or exchange.

If you are considering a return, please do not break the seal and contact The Mahj Studio first.

This return restriction does not prevent you from contacting us if you received an item that is damaged, defective, incorrect, or missing. Please contact us so we can review the issue according to our applicable policies.

SOMETHING DOESN'T LOOK RIGHT?

We carefully inspect our products before they leave us, but if you believe you received a damaged, defective, incorrect, or missing item, we're here to help.

Please contact The Mahj Studio and include:

• Your order number

• A brief description of the issue

• Clear photos of the affected item

• A photo of the full set when applicable

• Photos of the packaging and shipping box if the item arrived damaged

Please contact us as soon as possible after receiving your order so we can review the issue.

NORMAL WEAR VS. PRODUCT ISSUES

Scratches, scuffs, or other signs of wear that develop through normal play, handling, improper storage, accidental damage, or contact with hard or abrasive surfaces are not considered manufacturing defects.

MAHJONG TILES

Our mahjong tiles are primarily made from acrylic and may contain printed, engraved, painted, layered, or other decorative elements.

Acrylic may scratch, chip, crack, or break if dropped, struck, or improperly handled. Broken acrylic may create sharp or irregular edges.

Discontinue use immediately if a tile becomes cracked, chipped, broken, or otherwise unsafe.

For best care:

• Handle with care and avoid dropping or throwing tiles.
• Clean gently with a soft, non-abrasive cloth.
• Avoid harsh chemicals, acetone, solvents, and abrasive cleaners.
• Keep away from excessive heat, open flame, and prolonged direct sunlight.
• Store in a clean, dry location.

Normal scratches, scuffs, and cosmetic wear may occur with regular play.

ACRYLIC MAHJONG RACKS

Our mahjong racks are primarily made from acrylic and may include transparent, colored, patterned, printed, or decorative elements.

Acrylic racks may crack, chip, or break if dropped, struck, bent, or subjected to excessive force or weight. Damaged acrylic may create sharp edges.

Inspect racks before use and discontinue use immediately if cracked, chipped, broken, or otherwise damaged.

Racks are intended only to hold mahjong tiles during normal tabletop play. Do not bend, throw, stand on, sit on, or place excessive weight on them.

Clean with a soft, non-abrasive cloth and avoid harsh chemicals, solvents, excessive heat, and abrasive cleaning products.

MAHJONG MATS

The Mahj Studio offers two primary types of mahjong mats:

Neoprene Mats — Made primarily from neoprene or neoprene-based material and may include printed surfaces, fabric, rubberized components, inks, dyes, or adhesives.

Vegan Leatherette Mats — Made with a synthetic vegan leather/leatherette playing surface and rubberized or non-slip backing. Vegan leatherette is a synthetic leather-like material and is not genuine animal leather.

All mats are intended for tabletop mahjong play only.

Mat Safety & Care

• Place on a clean, dry, stable, and flat tabletop.
• Do not use as a floor mat, rug, bath mat, exercise mat, sleeping surface, or children’s play mat.
• Floor use may create a slip, trip, or fall hazard.
• Keep away from open flames, heaters, hot surfaces, and excessive heat.
• Wipe spills promptly with a soft, damp cloth.
• Avoid bleach, acetone, harsh chemicals, strong solvents, and abrasive cleaners.
• Do not iron or tumble dry.
• Allow the mat to dry completely before storing.
• Avoid prolonged folding, compression, and contact with sharp objects.

Normal creasing, impressions, surface marks, fading, scratches, or other cosmetic wear may occur with regular use and storage.

New mats may have a temporary material, printing, adhesive, or packaging odor. If present, allow the mat to air out in a well-ventilated area before use.

Discontinue use if a mat becomes torn, separated, excessively damaged, or otherwise presents a safety hazard.

PRODUCT VARIATIONS & NORMAL WEAR

Due to manufacturing processes, materials, printing, engraving, finishing, photography, lighting, and differences between electronic displays, products may have minor variations in color, pattern, transparency, texture, dimensions, print placement, engraving, or finish.

Minor cosmetic variations and normal wear that do not materially affect the intended function of the product are not necessarily considered manufacturing defects.

PROPER USE & ASSUMPTION OF RISK

Purchasers and users are responsible for properly using, handling, cleaning, storing, and supervising the use of The Mahj Studio products.

Do not intentionally break, modify, chew, ingest, burn, misuse, or use any product for a purpose other than its intended recreational tabletop use.

Do not continue using any product that is visibly broken, cracked, chipped, torn, or otherwise unsafe.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, The Mahj Studio is not responsible for injury, loss, or property damage resulting from misuse, improper handling, improper storage or cleaning, unauthorized modification, failure to follow provided warnings or instructions, use for an unintended purpose, or continued use of a visibly damaged product.
